Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, received a delegation from the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, to honor the supervisory committee of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Conference, which was recently held with active participation from several colleges and centers within the university.

During the meeting, held at the university presidency, expressions of gratitude and appreciation were extended to the scientific and academic staff who contributed to the success of the conference. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, the Dean of the College of Science, the Dean of the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, and several members of the organizing committee.

In his remarks, the University President emphasized the importance of such partnerships, which highlight the intellectual and humanitarian dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage. He noted that the university, as the nation’s leading academic institution, is committed to being present at major national and religious events through meaningful contributions of scholarly excellence.

Representatives of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research commended the University of Baghdad’s pioneering role in hosting and supporting intellectual conferences with humanitarian and religious significance. They praised the supervisory committee for its organized and comprehensive efforts, which helped present the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Conference as a globally recognized cultural event. The visit concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the committee members, in recognition of their dedicated efforts and fruitful collaboration.

This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 17, which advocates for partnerships to achieve shared objectives.
